Glo-Ran Hotel Owerri

As a Marriott Bonvoy Elite member, this was the most unprofessional Marriott-branded hotel I’ve stayed in by far. Check-in took nearly three hours. There’s just one elevator, with extremely long waits, and the restaurant service was just as disappointing. I made a reservation twice for my mother’s birthday, but neither one could be found. Our stay was disrupted by excessive noise, with construction in one wing and very loud music from another. The room’s air conditioning didn’t work, and maintenance was trying to fix it at almost 2am, as shown in the photo. The Wi-Fi was very poor and only worked in the lobby, not the rooms. Maintenance across the property seemed badly managed, and the general upkeep fell below standard. If you’re coming to Owerri expecting Marriott standards, stay away. This was a highly disappointing, unprofessional experience, and I strongly advise others to avoid the property.

It has the feel of another paradise away from home 🏡, with high security and alert staff 📢. The service is honest and straightforward. With luxurious accommodation and design, it’s an international-standard hotel suited to vacations, business trips, and indoor or outdoor meetings.

The best hotel in Owerri, in my view. You get much more than you pay for. The bed is huge, and the air conditioning gets freezing cold in a good way. Better than most hotels at this price.

The staff gave us fantastic service and attention, and we had a pleasant stay. The restaurant has a buffet as well as a menu, and the chef can adjust dishes for dietary needs if you ask. There are lovely, cozy sitting areas, and the swimming pool was incredibly clean. We also found entertainment in the dining room that weekend. Our room was clean and things were pretty great. Universal electrical adapters aren’t provided as standard, but they brought one when we asked. Security is strong, with full surveillance equipment, and there’s a fleet of drivers for guests at a reasonable price. We’ll definitely stay again if we’re in the area.
