The owners were lovely and always found me a bed, even when the hostel was full and my ferry cancellation meant I unexpectedly needed another night. I stayed for at least a week because it was so relaxed. With its chill atmosphere, clean spaces, and big garden, it's one of my favorite places in Nicaragua and definitely the best hostel on Corn Island. The dorm is in a bungalow with its own bathroom, and a towel was included. If you're spending a few days on Corn Island, this is the place to stay. Made with love!

Two lovely South American girls opened a hostel on Big Corn, and it turned out perfectly. We enjoyed every moment there. Our hosts were very helpful as tour guides and made us feel so welcome. They also have a jungle shower, which is definitely worth trying!

The hosts were welcoming from the moment we stepped onto the property at the Island Roots. We had a great time staying there, and one evening they even stayed to chat with us. They had lots of great stories to share.

The rooms are huge, and the whole hostel is really clean. The owners are very friendly too. My one gripe is paying $1 per person each day to refill a water bottle. That should be part of the room price. Since guests can use the kitchen at any hour, it can also be hard to get a good night's sleep.

The beach is close, and there’s lots of shared space, a fully equipped kitchen, clean rooms and bathrooms, and even a palm tree where you can pick fresh coconuts. The little details here really stood out, from the garden shower to the waste system, wooden beds, decorations, and handmade jewelry. Antonia and Laura run the hostel with volunteers, and we felt at home straight away. It was our favorite place in all of Nicaragua so far. I’ll always remember our pizza, coco loco, and Angela Merkel night, and getting to know Antonia and Laura better. Thanks for being such lovely hosts and making this feel like a peaceful spot on Big Corn Island. We didn’t feel a need to go to Little Corn. I’d absolutely recommend Island Roots.
