Breakfast was hearty each morning, and the room was clean, but the ceiling fan barely turned, so it got very hot. AC was available for an extra $5. The worst part was the laundry. We handed over what we thought was 4 or at most 5 kg and were told it cost 20 Cordoba per kilo. They charged us 250 Cordoba, as if we had 12.5 kg. That’s ridiculous, since we hadn’t even brought that much clothing. The guy at reception wouldn’t listen when I said the weight made no sense. After three nights, I left disappointed. It just didn’t feel like a trustworthy place.

The rooms feel luxurious and high end, with lovely details, and they’re large too. We had a really relaxing stay. Breakfast was delicious, with different local-style dishes each morning, and we ate in the small courtyard. The Wi-Fi was fast, and for the quality, it felt like a definite bargain. Just a lovely, relaxed place.

The room itself wasn’t bad, but I couldn’t close the large bathroom window, which felt unsafe because insects or a thief could get in. The surrounding streets were dirty and looked unsafe too. Things seemed okay until a bad incident. While I was out, staff went through my luggage. The bag cover was taken off and found somewhere else, and my notebook bag and underwear had been moved. I tried to let it go, but the next morning I found my cosmetic pouch had been cut and pinned back together. Nobody told me about it, and no one apologized. The owner walked away while I was explaining what happened. Then he cancelled my reservation as a “No show.” I guess he may have been trying to stop bad reviews on the website. I suspect this has happened before and that reviews were filtered through cancellations like this. What a mean guy.
