Sharon at reception was really nice, and the bed was comfortable, though I noticed a stain on the headboard. There are a few restaurants on the property, but their actual hours didn't match the posted ones, and one never opened at all. Across the street there's a mall with restaurants, a grocery store, and an ATM.

Everything was outstanding apart from one letdown: I booked a massage I was really looking forward to, then was told the woman wouldn't be coming.

I went for the buffet breakfast rather than staying at the property. It was nice, the service was good, and the food was alright.

The staff made a strong impression, from housekeeping through the front desk. Management managed to be professional and warm at the same time. The lobby feels a little dated, but it's still pleasant. What stood out most for me was how quiet the room was. I travel often, and at Real Intercontinental I couldn't hear neighbors, people above me, outside noise, or even housekeeping. That's rare, even at five-star places. The room was a comfortable size and well equipped, with good lighting, a lit vanity mirror, excellent bedding, and reliable Wi-Fi. The clean bathroom had great water pressure, temperature, and plumbing, plus a glass shower divider instead of a curtain. Hypoallergenic bedding is available, though you may need to double-check the pillows. There are four restaurants, quite a lot for a medium-sized hotel, and the sushi and steak spots are regarded as among the city's top ten. Breakfast was pretty good, especially the omelettes. Coffee was only okay, which is common in Managua, and the plantains often weren't truly ripe. The fruit selection was good, but uneven, and I think they should leave out anything that's not up to standard. The location is very central, though traffic across Managua has become heavy. Even a few blocks can take 15-30 minutes. That's a city-wide problem: the infrastructure is decades behind, roads aren't in great shape, and driving education is lacking. Even so, I'd say this is probably the best hotel in the city, and I'd book it without hesitation.
