The neighborhood has such a welcoming feel, and visiting really feels like being at home. There are vendors within easy walking distance: a mini local store just around the corner east of the hotel, fresh homemade bread across the street each day, and a cheese seller three doors east across the street. Half a block east, a vendor at the corner sells freshly prepared beans daily and has other items too. In the morning, you wake to birds chirping as the sun rises, along with the local church bells, which ring in the morning and at different times through the day. Thank you for a wonderful visit.

The rooms are cheap and you get what you pay for. It’s not fancy, but for a young backpacker, it’s all you need. George, the owner, is one of the nicest people you could meet. He made sure we were comfortable and looked after us. When one of our tour guides didn’t show, he took us on the tour himself so we still saw what we’d paid for, and even refunded us some of the money.

There are no window screens, so opening the window on a hot night lets in a lot of bugs. The ceiling in our room was thin styrofoam, and reception is unattended during certain hours, which makes checking out difficult.

We liked staying outside the tourist area, and the walk into the city center was manageable. The place feels new and clean, though the rooms get really hot because there's not enough ventilation.
