Plaza Marbella Granada Condiminiums

The hotel was super quiet, with big rooms, great AC, and really attentive service. Breakfast was okay, but nothing special. Depending on the neighborhood, you may want a car or taxi instead of walking to the hotel.

The location was good, just around the corner from the main plaza, and the mattress was clean. Still, this was the worst stay of our trip in Central America, though we loved Granada. We paid about 160 dollars a night for a suite, but the first one smelled like animal urine and looked dirty, so we asked for another. In the new suite, there was only half a roll of toilet paper between three toilets. When we asked for more, we were told to request another roll after that one was used up. We chose a suite for its kitchen, but it wasn't equipped for cooking: just one small cup, a bread knife, a cutting board, and a tiny pan. We gave the staff a list of basic things we needed, but they barely looked at it and brought random items from the restaurant. Everything was dirty, and one pillow had no cover, so we could see how yellow it was. Staff seemed kind of indifferent, and we also had to pay 2 dollars a night for parking, which is silly for a four-star hotel.

I was supposed to stay four nights before an Intrepid trip, but Avianca changed my flights so much that I only stayed one. I arrived late from the bus and found the hotel locked up, though the night porter eventually let me in. The room was nice but hot. I would've liked more time there, though nothing I saw amazed me.

The staff were wonderful, the grounds beautiful, and Hotel Marbella is in a great spot, quiet away from the center but only a five-minute walk from shops and restaurants. We had a lovely stay and would come back to Granada. The food and drinks tasted amazing, though the menu choices were limited; staff mentioned the hotel was working on a new menu. Lester, the hotel's recommended taxi driver, was honest and reliable, gave great service, and charged very reasonable prices.
