It’s wonderfully quiet, with no wifi, so it’s easy to switch off and relax. We had a kitchen in our unit, and bringing some food might make sense depending on the length of your stay. The restaurant serves tasty local dishes, though the price per plate doesn’t feel like good value. There are comfortable rooms, plenty of hammocks, and views of mombacho and conception volcanoes. We enjoyed swimming and kayaking right from the island, plus excellent birding and fishing. The staff were helpful and the owners friendly.

Such a great spot, a little piece of paradise. I made a new friend who helped me clean the bones from the freshly caught lunch. The facilities are modern and clean, right in the middle of ecological purity.

The hosts were warm and charming, and knew so much about the local plants, animals, and geology. We had a fabulous stay in this lush tropical setting, surrounded by birds and howler monkeys. Highly recommended!

The owners, Roselyn and Mauro, welcomed us like old friends and shared how the island had changed over time, along with the passion they put into turning volcanic rock into the place it is now. It’s a unique spot on a small island in Lake Cocibolca, a hectare of paradise. Swimming in the lake was a real pleasure, and rowboats and kayaks are available. The prices feel closer to a luxury hotel, while the stay itself is rustic, with no hot water, limited electricity, and a very basic shower.

Roselyne and Mauro welcomed us so warmly on Zopango Island. The island’s flora is incredible, and our hosts knew so much about it. A lovely pause from the usual rush, thank you for this timeless experience.
