I liked the atmosphere and courtyard here more than at Hotel La Perla, although the service and breakfast weren't as good. The courtyard and roomy sitting area beside it are the standout features. The hotel used to be a monetary, and the courtyard feels like a real oasis away from the town's rather noisy streets. Either hotel is a great choice.

Breakfast overlooking the courtyard garden was good, and our room facing the courtyard was spacious, comfortable, and well equipped. The hotel is right in the center of town, just steps from Leon's interesting sights and good restaurants. We loved staying at Hotel El Convento. Its garden, hallways, sitting areas, and pool are all welcoming, with lots of art and antiques. Service was excellent from reception to the restaurant and housekeeping. I highly recommend it.

Leon has such an interesting history and is a great city to explore. Hotel El Convento is a lovely place to stay, and I'll be back. We had a big, nicely furnished room in the inner courtyard. It was quiet, with excellent darkening drapes, and the bathroom was spacious with a wonderful shower. This is a first-class property with first-class service. Everyone, from reception and housekeeping to the parking attendants and restaurant staff, went out of their way to make our stay pleasant.

We really enjoyed staying at this historic property. It's nicely kept and decorated with antiques. Down the street, the museum has a great collection of modern Central American art, along with older works dating back to the 1500s.

I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a good experience. When I paid for my reservation, they told me I could cancel free of charge up to 24 hours before the event. Now I'm cancelling four days ahead and they're saying they can't return the money, even though that goes against what's on the reservation page. The service has been awful, and the way they're treating people is terrible.
