We left after an hour with no food and pretty frustrated. We’d told the staff we were vegan and checked whether we could order from the full menu or only breakfast; they said everything was available. My friend asked for gallo pinto and plantains with bread, but was told there was no bread, despite all the sandwiches on the menu. Then they brought eggs and cheese, which wasn’t what we’d ordered. They also tried charging us for that meal. I asked about the tomato soup before ordering and was assured it had no cream or cheese. The waitress said it was too early for soup, but her partner said they could make it, so I ordered that with gallo pinto. The plate came without the gallo pinto, and the soup was almost all cream. They paid little attention to what we needed and got nothing right. I really wouldn’t recommend this restaurant.

The people were friendly, but when I stayed in May 2019 the hotel facilities seemed neglected and badly maintained. There were methane fumes coming from the sewer pipe, and the air conditioning system was pretty rotten. Maybe low guest numbers and income had something to do with it. Even $25 felt like too much in those conditions.

There were loads of bed bugs, and the room was old, dirty, and smelly. The sheets had stains, which seemed normal with that many bugs, and the cleaning overall was very poor. Don’t stay here. There are plenty of other places in Moyogalpa and around Ometepe.

Avoid paying by credit card if you can. They add a 15% fee, which isn’t good.

The food and service were good. I could easily spend the whole day in one of the upstairs hammocks, listening to the birds chirp and the city sounds around me.
