The atmosphere is what makes this place so special, more than the nice rooms. The pool has beautiful views, and it’s very quiet, though you can head next door to hush hostel for a more social scene. Food was healthy and tasty, and the cookies were the best I’ve ever had. There’s a kitchen guests can use, too. Playa maderas is very close, with a short but adventurous walk down a jungle trail to the beach. I’m definitely thinking of coming back for a longer stay.

The views and the feel of the whole place make this my top choice in Playa Maderas. The staff are “locals” traveling abroad, with great stories, and they made me feel welcome. I was a little cautious about the food as a traveler, but everything on the menu looked so good I wanted to try it all. The beach is nearby, and there’s AC and hot water, both musts for me in a warm climate. I’d stay here again without hesitation. Say hi to Josh, Fudge, and Ben for me!

About a 12-minute walk from Playa Maderas Beach, with comfy beds and good WiFi. The lobby is spectacular, full of gorgeous art and looking out toward the Pacific. The house music is tuned to KCRW, so you know this place is cool. Great spot 👌🙂

I brought a group of 60 here for a trip, and we ran the schedule and food and drinks through Arte-Sano + Hush. It worked perfectly. I organize plenty of events, and the staff made everything easy. The views are gorgeous, the beach is a quick walk away, the food is delicious, and the staff are phenomenal. We’re planning to come back around the same time next year.

It’s peaceful and relaxing, with no kids splashing around and disrupting the vibe. The food and drinks are delicious, and the views are amazing. Whenever I’m in SJDS, I come here and spend the whole day. Definitely worth a visit 🤩
