Eden on the Chocolata

The cabanas were clean and peaceful, the grounds beautiful, and every meal was outstanding, even for me as a non-vegetarian. The staff were so kind and welcoming. Latoya and Chrissy are excellent yoga teachers, bringing variety and depth to their classes. The workshops were valuable too and helped bring the experience together. Getting there from Managua was easy and well organized. There can be occasional background noise, but it didn’t affect my stay. I’d recommend this retreat if you want to relax, deepen your practice, and have a well-rounded experience.

The views from the yoga shala were incredible. We watched beautiful sunsets over the bay, and I know the scenery will stay with me. Eden felt intimate, rooted in nature and community, and gave me space to disconnect, reconnect, and change in whatever way I needed. This was my first yoga retreat, and it was an amazing experience. The staff and guides made our time special, including Katie, LaToya, and Scott. The yoga was accessible at any experience level. Workshops, breathwork, Temazcal, and Cacao ceremonies felt truly transformative, and the smaller group made them even more meaningful. The food was healthy, delicious, and nourishing, with huge portions, so I was never hungry. There’s plenty to do if you want to explore, including beautiful private beaches within walking distance. Some nights weren’t very quiet, as other reviewers have said, but the team provided earplugs to help with road noise. I was engaged in activities and slept okay most nights. As cheesy as it sounds, this place and its people changed me and will always have a special place in my heart. I’m so grateful to everyone who made it special.

The food was delicious, all vegetarian, with vegan options, and the flexible schedule suited me really well. Eden is quiet and rural, with a small community that felt like one big family. The staff and resident yoga teachers were incredible. It’s about three hours from Managua and close to San Juan del Sur, just what I was after. I drove from the airport and was glad to have a car. If you rent one, watch your speed: the police are known for frequent checkpoints and handing out a lot of tickets.

A really lovely community and a peaceful place to slow down, recharge, and be around nature. We loved our stay at Eden on the Chocolata, especially the amazing food and beautiful ocean views. 🌿☀️🌊
