The internet was excellent, around 70 Mbps, and the room was spacious with useful things like a kettle. Our fridge, though, was empty and switched off. Getting into Amsterdam takes a bit of effort: it's about a 12-minute walk to the station, then roughly 20 minutes on the train. The hotel itself sits right in central Abcoude, close to a few shops and restaurants. We were on the first floor, reached by very steep stairs. There wasn't much soundproofing, so we heard plenty of noise, including a loud sewage pump in the bathroom. I also had to move two spiders, and the cleaning could be a little better. Breakfast costs extra and was fine, with boiled eggs, cold cuts and cheese, nothing especially memorable. The coffee was very good.

After a long day cycling, it was such a relief to arrive. The staff were friendly, and they put our bikes away safely in a locked room. The hotel is in a lovely part of town. Breakfast the following morning had a good range of food, including gluten-free and dairy-free options. A wonderful stay.

The train ride into Amsterdam takes about 25 minutes, and the station is a 10-minute walk away. A return ticket costs 8 euros and you can only buy it by card at the machine, since there isn't any staff at the station. There are several good restaurants within a five-minute walk, plus a supermarket and a convenience store. The hotel feels homely and quiet, as does the neighborhood. The owner and staff are friendly, and the bed was comfortable.

We had a lovely time here. It's a quiet, beautiful place in a small town, and a handy base for trips around the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany. The staff were great, and everything was clean and tidy. Our renovated room had air conditioning and all the amenities. Three stars are well deserved.

The village is lovely, and the place itself is clean and charming, with really comfortable rooms. What stood out most was how caring everyone was. The staff made us feel like family instead of guests, and they were more helpful than we could have expected. A great experience.
