Hotel Cataleya BV

I booked two rooms on Booking.com for a city visit, but the booking went through with the wrong date. I contacted them less than a minute after paying to cancel, with more than a week still to go before the stay. They kept sending me back and forth between themselves and Booking.com, and nobody replied properly or refunded my money. A scam. Thieves!

This area feels dangerous, and I don't understand why the city of Almere lets this place operate. It should be demolished, forgotten, and replaced with something decent. The hotel has bedbugs, and it felt more like a train station than a hotel. I slept in the cold. A danger zone.

We stayed here three times in the last three months and each visit was better than we expected. On our third stay, we were given room 116, a deluxe room that was better than the big standard room we'd booked. They also brought us an extra warm blanket, which we appreciated. The room was spacious and clean, and everything worked. The woman at reception was friendly and helped right away whenever we needed something. The location is handy, about a six-minute walk from the train station and two minutes from the parking garage, which costs €12 a day. There are plenty of shops, restaurants, and cafes nearby in the city centre. The hotel has a lift, and our room had a coffee machine, fridge, TV, and two bottles of water. The price was good, too.

Really good spot in the city, and everyone was helpful.
