Cityden Stadshart

Cityden was our favorite place to stay during two weeks of travelling around Europe. We loved it there. The room was clean and spacious, the staff were friendly and helpful, and the bar and restaurant staff were great. Check-in was quick and easy, and the parking garage was easy to get around. Our son had left his wallet at a hotel in Austria, and Cityden was willing to have it forwarded there for us.

The apartment was spacious and comfortable, with everything needed for a relaxing holiday. The sauna is available to apartment guests by reservation, which makes for a private experience. Staff were professional and friendly, and management took good care of our needs. They also stored our luggage safely when our flight was later than checkout. Getting to the hotel was easy, and it was well connected for going wherever we needed. The details seemed thoughtfully planned to make a visit comfortable.

The small play area in the ground-floor restaurant was a huge relief for us travelling with an infant in winter. The staff were warm and welcoming, and there’s also a bar and restaurant downstairs. We stayed in a clean, modern, well-equipped one-room apartment. Fresh towels and rubbish collection were provided daily, with a deeper clean weekly on longer stays. Dishwasher pods were supplied. For laundry, bring your own detergent or get some from reception for a euro. The tram 5 starting point is a short walk away, making it easy to get to the city or workplaces like Zuid, and you can usually get a seat at the first stop. One tip if you’re booking a one-bedroom apartment for a longer stay: ask about availability on the first floor, where the higher ceiling makes the space feel much bigger. I found this out after moving between two different rooms during my stay.

We spent 3.5 weeks in a two-bedroom apartment, which was great and had everything we needed. The location was perfect too. The problem was how noisy the rooms were. Every morning around 5:30 to 6, we were woken by what sounded like furniture being moved upstairs, maybe in the housekeeping room. If you book, it may be worth checking and avoiding those rooms.
