Acostar Hotel

The room was cramped and uncomfortable, with a low ceiling, and didn't seem suitable for a proper stay. We were put in the loft, where it was extremely small and nothing like the pictures on the hotel's website. Those photos gave the impression of a much bigger, more comfortable room and felt clearly misleading. Had the room been shown honestly, I wouldn't have booked.

It's only a short walk to the city center, and that location made it worth it for me. My room was small but cozy and comfortable, and everything was really clean. The staff were friendly and helpful, and having service available 24 hours made things easy. Free coffee in the morning was a nice bonus.

I wouldn't recommend this hotel. The room was tiny, with two small, uncomfortable single beds and not even a proper pillow. The bathroom was small but okay, and the room itself was clean. We were on the second level, and the stairs were a killer, with a very dirty carpet and spilled paint all over it. We also had to leave a 100 euro deposit in case of damage. The hotel photo showing it lit up beside a canal at night is misleading. The acostar hotel in kertstraat isn't on the canal, it's next to happy feelings Coffeeshop. So why use a different picture, and why say there's a bar and restaurant when there isn't?

The location is great, though rooms at the front can get noisy on weekends. There's no lift, but the stairs don't go very high. No breakfast, but plenty of places nearby to choose from, and there's nice free coffee in the morning. Basic place, but the service was really great. They helped us out after the hotel we'd booked before this one messed up.
