Amigo Budget Hotel

The location was convenient, in a good area not far from the city centre, with a large grocery store and plenty of cafes and restaurants nearby. Staff were welcoming and friendly, check-in was quick, and they let us leave our luggage after checkout, which helped a lot. Unfortunately, the room wasn’t clean enough, especially the bathroom. The door was stained, and there was hair in the shower from previous guests. We could hear neighbors all around us, especially upstairs, because the soundproofing was poor, and it made it hard to sleep. The shower looked stylish but was impractical. Water kept leaking onto the bathroom floor, so we had to mop it up each time with the squeegee provided in the room. It was thoughtful to leave one there, but it made me wonder why the shower was designed that way. The location and staff were good, but with the cleanliness and noise issues, I wouldn’t recommend staying unless they’re improved.

I’d consider it if you’re on a budget, but it wouldn’t be my first choice. The beds were okay, but on arrival someone was sleeping in mine, and I had to change beds twice during our two-night stay. There was no air conditioning, so the room got hot and sweaty at night. A big group next door partied loudly, and staff didn’t do anything about it. I stayed at Amigo budget hostel with three friends. The experience was okay, but not a good choice overall.

We stayed a couple of nights in a dorm. The room was very clean when we arrived. About half the staff were incredibly lovely, while some seemed like they didn’t want to be there. The stairs are very small and steep, so keep that in mind with heavy suitcases. We managed fine with backpacks. There was construction outside that kept waking us early. It’s not the hostel’s fault, but the walls are very thin and you can hear a lot, so I’d really recommend earplugs. There’s no kitchen, just a microwave, tiny fridge, and kettle in reception. That was fine for us, but useful to know. The location is convenient-ish, close to tram and bus stops, though you’ll have a long walk or long journeys. We also didn’t find it very social, if that’s what you’re looking for. An okay place for a couple of nights.

I was bitten during the very first night because there were bed bugs in the room. It was extremely disappointing and completely ruined my stay. At first the hotel seemed perfect: a clean, modern room, friendly staff, and a convenient location. But none of that matters when you wake up with itchy, painful bites. I strongly urge management to treat the room thoroughly and solve the problem. Until then, I can’t recommend this hotel.
