Bilderberg Garden Hotel

We had a great three-night stay in this peaceful part of southern Amsterdam, away from the traffic and rush. It's a six- or seven-minute walk to the tram, which can take you anywhere. The staff were really friendly, and the service was excellent. Breakfast had lots of options, including English, American, and Dutch styles. It was a bit expensive during the holiday season, but worth it. Highly recommend.

There isn't much in the way of facilities beyond the bar and lounge, but that didn't spoil my stay. I especially enjoyed the entertaining South African man at the check-in desk; he's a real asset to the hotel. I had a great time at the Bilderberg Garden Hotel. The location in Amsterdam Zuid is fantastic, quiet and classy, with a relaxed, upscale feel. My room was clean, cozy, and a nice place to unwind after a day out. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, and made sure I was comfortable. They were discreet and understanding about certain “personal comforts,” which I appreciated.

The room had a lot of issues: the cleanliness was poor, the TV had only about ten channels, the water pressure was low, and there were no slippers. I asked for a firm pillow; they noted it but never brought one. The hotel feels dated and careless, maybe two or three stars. There was nobody at reception when we arrived. The self check-in stations were right by the entrance, leaving guests crowded together without proper space to wait. We were told to check in ourselves, but I couldn't work out how to enter the company name across the first and last name fields. I couldn't proceed, and the receptionist scolded me.

We waited more than four hours, even though check-in was at 4 PM and we had arrived earlier. First they gave us a twin room instead of a double, then moved us to a dirty room that wasn't ready. The lift was out of service, and the reception staff were rude and didn't apologize. The manager never came to apologize either. Terrible service and poor management. I don't recommend this hotel.
