Apollofirst Boutique Hotel

I only booked one night, which was a shame, because I’d happily stay again. The hotel is in a calm area near the museum district, so it was easy to get around while still being able to relax. Reception were welcoming and exceptionally helpful with a few travel-related issues, and their support made a real difference. I’d highly recommend it.

The one drawback was our ground-floor room. We could hear everything from the floor above, and it woke us once or twice, though it didn’t really disrupt our stay. Otherwise, the location was great for getting into the centre, and the staff were attentive and exceptionally helpful. They also gave us lots of good recommendations.

The lounge and bar are a lovely place to relax, and there’s a beautiful garden for sitting outside. Our room had a vintage feel, but it was clean and spacious, with toiletries and good-quality shower products in the bathroom. Apollofirst is in a quiet residential neighbourhood, with a tram stop literally around the corner for easy access to the city centre. Thanks to all the staff for their kindness and professionalism, and a special shoutout to Sam for the warm welcome.

The breakfast was really nice, and the man working that shift was so kind, always bringing out fresh food. The hotel was quiet, with few people around, and the location is in a peaceful neighbourhood away from Amsterdam’s crowded areas. The bed and bathroom were amazing, too. One thing: on a cold day, the room was already very warm when we arrived, at 24 degrees celcius. Opening the window helped a little, but turning on the AC didn’t lower the temperature. I’d still definitely recommend staying here.
