Citadines Sloterdijk Station Amsterdam

The compensation they promised was a one-night refund plus breakfasts. We received breakfast, but no refund. Booking.com offered just a 15% goodwill refund, which felt far from enough. We didn’t move hotels because there were three of us traveling with a lot of luggage, but that didn’t resolve the problem. Worries about cleanliness and safety overshadowed the entire stay. We were at Citadines Sloterdijk Station Amsterdam from August 7-11, 2025, for four nights with three guests. On August 7, our first night, we found a mouse in the apartment. The following night, August 8, we encountered another one in the same apartment and took photos. Rodents in a guest room on two consecutive nights is unacceptable and a serious hygiene and safety issue. The hotel blamed nearby construction, but that doesn’t excuse pests getting into guest rooms. Until management takes real steps to prevent this and honors its compensation promises, I can’t recommend the property.

The beds and pillows weren’t especially comfortable for us, and the air-conditioning and heating malfunctioned a few times, leaving us chilly even in summer. The staff were responsive and did their best to fix it. The two nearby supermarkets are small and have limited variety, which could be a problem for a longer stay. The bathroom had plenty of space, though a little more counter space would have helped. The room was very clean, with new furniture and everything we needed. We appreciated the convenient guest room amenities, including towels and toilet paper, and found the staff incredibly friendly and helpful. Sloterdijk station is just a three-minute walk away, with plenty of trains, trams, and buses for getting to the city center. We had a fantastic stay and definitely recommend the hotel.

The breakfast was very good, with lots of choices. It’s outside the city centre, but right by a train station, so it’s easy to get around. I enjoyed my stay, and the rooms had modern facilities and very comfortable beds.

We were very satisfied with our stay at Citadines. The room was comfortable and equipped for cooking, and the staff were kind and cooperative. Sloterdijk station is close by, so we could reach Amsterdam central station by train in six minutes.
