ClinkNOORD - Hostel

The staff were especially helpful when I had a stressful luggage problem involving Iberia Airlines. I was panicking a bit, but Letizia was patient, kind, and stayed with me through it, which made a real difference. Rooms were comfortable and well cared for, and checking in and out was simple even if you're not very tech-savvy. The €9.90 buffet breakfast had plenty of fresh, well-organized choices. It gets busy later, so try to arrive when it opens at 7:00 AM. Great value, and I'll book here again when I'm back in Amsterdam.

The facilities were generally nice, but I didn't find the staff especially helpful. I asked at reception whether I could cancel the last night of my multi-day stay and was told no, so I paid an extra night of city tax. When I checked out early, though, I saw they actually could cancel it with a few clicks. A little more patience and effort when a customer asks for help would have been nice.

It's a cozy spot for travelers and remote work, and I really liked the spacious room with its glass ceiling. I didn't try the menu, though the food looked and smelled good. The coffee could be better. Still, five stars for the lovely staff, especially Timo, who's naturally sweet and spreads positive energy so easily.

The showers had hot water, the toilets were clean, and there's a grocery store five minutes away on foot. The place has lots of amenities and is relatively clean, but the rooms feel worn, like the money went into the lobby instead. The social atmosphere is a bit strange, and it feels more like a hotel than a hostel. Prices are the main issue: drinks at the bar and breakfast are expensive. It's an okay hostel.
