De L'Europe Amsterdam

The care in the little details made this stay special. Our butler turned on the heated bathroom floor so it was warm underfoot after a shower, just one example of how attentive the service was. The staff were kind, and the gracious doorman welcomed us as if we were coming home. I stayed in the Premium Deluxe Room at De L’Europe Amsterdam. It was elegant and deeply comfortable, with perhaps the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in. The whole place has a feeling of quiet luxury that stays with you after you leave. I already dream of returning.

The facilities, view, and location were spectacular, and breakfast at the hotel was fantastic. We had a great time, especially over New Year’s. The food was amazing and the service even better. Our room came with champagne and chocolate, including delicious custom-made branded chocolate. The Van Gogh museum was fully booked, so we spoke to the concierge. They kindly gave us a special VIP card that let us skip the line and enter the museum.

Freddy's Bar was a highlight for us: stylish, lively, and serving excellent cocktails. We loved the wasabi mixed nuts and unusually good olives, too. The doorman deserves a special mention for his kindness, helpful city tips, and warm greetings that made coming back feel like coming home. Our room was peaceful, beautifully designed, and a lovely place to retreat after exploring. The bathroom was a real surprise, with heated floors and even heated walls that gave it a spa-like feel. The hotel is elegant and inviting, right in the heart of Amsterdam. From arrival onward, every staff member treated us with real warmth and care. We wouldn't change a thing. The D Suite was the highlight: spacious for Amsterdam, comfortable, and well suited to couples combining business and a stay together. De L’Europe is beautiful, with a classic, refined feel and a great location. We spent a full week there and would consider returning. The spa was clean and relaxing, though quite basic. A sauna and steam room would make it much better. Most service was very good, but housekeeping was inconsistent. Several times, staff entered while I was undressed, even though the room was occupied. The minibar wasn't topped up unless we asked. Once, the “Please make up my rooms” sign stayed up for over six hours. Later, while we were already in the room, housekeeping came in while my fiancé was on an important business call. At this price and star level, better timing and communication would make a difference. With more consistent housekeeping and some spa improvements, the hotel could meet and exceed five-star expectations.
