Dikker & Thijs Hotel

We were very happy with our weekend stay and would definitely come back. I hadn’t booked the room myself, so I arrived without expectations, which made the experience even nicer. Our room was spacious and comfortable, with big windows, and there was little street noise given how lively the area is. The view of the street and canal was beautiful, and cafés, shops, and the tram are just steps away. The staff were relaxed and helpful. I asked for another duvet, and it was waiting in the room when I got back. I also appreciated having soft, thin and firm pillow options, which is rare. Free coffee and tea were available all day in the lounge.

Our room was spotless, and the whole hotel was kept so clean and tidy. From the start, the receptionist welcomed us warmly and made our children feel special with complimentary teddy bears and coloring materials. Aida in the restaurant also made the stay memorable with her kindness, attention, and genuine care. We felt at home, and the hospitality throughout was outstanding. We couldn’t have asked for a better Amsterdam stay, and will definitely return. I’d highly recommend it to families.

The rooms are a little old, but they’re very clean and well cared for. It’s a historic building in a great spot near the tram lines, with lots of restaurants nearby that stay open until 2am. Staff were professional, kind, and welcoming, and replaced our conditioner bottles right away when we ran out. Lounge access includes unlimited tea, coffee, and pastries. When you book multiple days in a row, you get a free breakfast buffet on your first morning. The selection is small but delicious, with pastries, an egg cooked to your liking, drinks, and assorted fruit. We had a great time here.

The canal view was gorgeous, and the room was very clean, with a comfortable bed and pillow. Breakfast was basic but still nice, and all the staff were lovely. The location is very convenient. Just bear in mind it’s an old building, so you may hear your neighbors and all the doors opening and closing.
