Dream Hotel Amsterdam

Friendly staff and an excellent spot for sightseeing, close to cafés and restaurants in the old district. Just keep expectations realistic: the Dream Hotel is a budget crash-pad, not somewhere I’d choose for comfort. Our sparse, dated room had lumpy, uncomfortable pillows and a lingering artificial scent like car air freshener. The old building felt uneven, with noticeably sloped floors. There’s no elevator, so we had to haul luggage up several steep staircases, though staff offered to help.

My partner and I stayed a week while travelling from Australia, and the room had everything we needed for the essentials. It was clean, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The location is great for getting to most places, with taxis and Ubers available right outside. Highly recommend!

We spent three nights here, moving from room 20 to room 12 after the first night. Room 20 was tiny, with a 140 cm bed and no mini fridge, but its view onto the street below was lovely, and it worked well for one night. The next morning, reception offered us a larger room without us having to ask. We were glad to switch. Room 12 had more space, a bigger bed, a mini fridge, and a window that opened, which mattered to me because I don’t sleep well without fresh air. It was clean and had a nice view too. The service was really good. I found the pillow a bit hard, though my friend liked it, and when I asked for a softer one, they brought one up in three minutes. Everyone was friendly and we felt welcome the whole time. I was there with my best friend, and she paid for the hotel, thank you

The room was decent, and they had decorated it too. For the price, the service was great and the location was perfect. I had a great stay. Thank you.
