Holiday Inn Express Amsterdam - Sloterdijk Station by IHG

The location is handy for the train station and only a short ride from Amsterdam central, though the surrounding area isn't especially nice. We saw some odd people smoking and drinking nearby. That didn't bother me much since we were mostly sleeping there and spent our time in central Amsterdam and other cities. It may not be the best fit for a family trip, but it's a decent option if you want a good price near the station. Our room was alright and the staff were nice, though the ground floor looked dirty and one of our blankets was dirty too. The room wasn't cleaned when we returned, even after a concert that night. We only stayed three nights, so we didn't make much of it; they cleaned it the second night and replaced the towels. We could hear trains because we were so close, but once asleep we barely noticed them. Breakfast was okay, and 8 seemed better than 9 for going down.

We could leave our suitcases at reception after checkout, which was helpful. The room was clean and had what we needed, and breakfast was better than I'd expected. Getting around was simple too, with the train station a one-minute walk away and the bus and tram stop under three minutes away, despite the hotel's location.

I'd consider staying here again. The room was roomy, clean, and comfortable, and breakfast had a reasonably good selection. The hotel sits right by Sloterdijk's train, bus, and metro station. You can take a direct train or GVB bus 369 to the airport, and a direct train or GVB bus 22 to Amsterdam central.

The rooms are spacious, and the breakfast has a decent spread. Staff were friendly and the service was good. For housekeeping, they offer bar drinks as a swap, which can work well if you're staying two days. The connections are excellent: the tram and bus stop are two minutes away, and the station right next door gets you to Centraal in about five minutes. There's a Spar downstairs and a Lidl around a 15-minute walk away. One of my better Holiday Inn stays.
