Hotel Crown

The hotel looks out over one of Amsterdam's most beautiful canals, and the reception lounge has a welcoming, elegant, relaxing feel. They offer complimentary coffee, herbal tea, and other drinks, a small detail that really matters. I stayed at Hotel The Crown for two days. Though the rooms aren't large, they were clean, cared for, and nicely maintained, with daily housekeeping. My late arrival meant there was no in-person welcome, but I felt supported throughout, as though someone were always there to help. The central location is excellent, just five minutes from Amsterdam Central Station and handy for the main sights, from the Red Light District to the canals. I'd recommend it and would gladly return. We booked before reading the reviews, which weren't great, so we were pleasantly surprised when we arrived. The place was clean and tidy, and the refurbishment looked good. The location is amazing, and the rooms are quiet too. There was no TV in our room, but we actually enjoyed the stay. The cat at the hotel was a lovely touch. Thank you! The stairs were tough for us, especially since we were on the top floor. It might not suit older guests or anyone with leg or knee problems. Even so, we were really pleased overall.

The location was good, but the room was tiny and up in the fourth-floor attic. Its ceiling window looked out only onto the neighboring building's roof. The sheets weren't clean, and there was nowhere to put our luggage. Glad we stayed just one night.

Mohamed was a polite, helpful host, and I loved the service, the stay, and the location. The lovely cat at the entrance was a bonus too. Incredible experience, 10/10, I'd come back!
