A good choice for solo travelers or anyone on a budget. The price felt fair for a clean, safe, private room and bathroom, with no glitz or glam. It was pretty much exactly what the hotel says it is. The location is great, close to the Van Gogh Museum, Vondelpark, shopping and the city center. Entry is locked all day and you need a keycard or help from the front desk, which felt secure. Check-in and checkout were easy. Bags of housekeeping supplies sometimes sat in the hallways and made them look a little untidy, but it was fine. The room had no fridge or microwave, and the walls were thin, though nobody was especially loud. The small bathroom and shower were fine, and there was a hairdryer. Housekeeping kept the room tidy and stocked. The stairs are very narrow and steep, as seems common in Dutch buildings, but there's a lift that works well.

The price is good for Amsterdam, but the hotel felt old-fashioned and very dirty. I found hairs in the bed, and the bathroom hadn't been cleaned properly. For a three-star place, it doesn't compare well with others. I'd consider it for a cheap night in Amsterdam, but if you're looking for somewhere good, I wouldn't recommend it.

The location was the one real plus: close to the museums and park, and about a 25-30 minute walk to the central station. The rest didn't feel worth €220 a night for a room of barely 10-12 m². With only a little more money, you could find much better. We wouldn't stay again. Our fourth-floor room was extremely cramped. It had one tiny window and no view of the park. The narrow double bed had no access on one side, and its thin mattress was uncomfortable. The bathroom was so small a second person couldn't fit, and its door hit the bed before it could open fully. The corridor carpets were dirty, and the room didn't feel very clean either. Soundproofing was poor: footsteps in the hallway sounded as if they were in the room. We were also given just one key card.

The room was clean, and the staff were forthcoming. We were close to museums, cafes and some nice neighborhoods. The only issue was a rather unpleasant smell from the bathroom during the whole stay, maybe a perk of canal life, I suppose!

The bathroom was really small, but the rooms were cleaned every day and turned out better than we'd expected. The location was perfect. I do recommend it.
