Nadia Hotel

The staff were wonderful, friendly and full of useful information. The rooms were very clean, and I slept comfortably. Monica Geller on Friends would approve. I really enjoyed the canal view, and breakfast is included. Getting around by public transit was easy, with directions on the hotel website. The hotel is central, with shops and groceries close by and the train station an easy walk away. I slept with the window open, and could hear people passing and their conversations. If you’re sensitive to noise, bring earplugs or buy some at the nearby grocery store. I’d still stay again, since the good points outweighed that one downside. Someone recommended the hotel to me, and I’d pass that recommendation on to anyone visiting Amsterdam.

A spacious room with a lovely view from the windows, and a nice bathroom. The two beds can be pushed together to make one. The staff were excellent, too. The breakfast room felt nostalgic, with tasty options and an astonishing view. Even the stairs up to reception and the rooms added to the romantic atmosphere. I’d recommend it as a great base for romantic travellers who don’t mind older, but well-maintained, facilities.

The staff were amazing, and the hotel has a nice charm about it. Our room was spotless and stayed warm the whole time. It was quite dated, though, and the toilet was awkward to use. At 6' 2", I couldn’t close the door fully because my knees hit it. A big draft came through the window, but the heavy curtains helped keep it in check. Breakfast had plenty of continental options, and the coffee was fresh and just the right strength to start the day. We had to check out very early on our last day, and were unexpectedly told a takeaway breakfast would be sent up to our room. That was much appreciated. Would we stay again? Absolutely.

If you’re after a cozy, typical Amsterdam hotel right in the centre, this place has charm and history and is close to everything. The old town is beautiful, and I’d recommend the hotel every time. The steep stairs are no joke, but the staff will help with whatever you need. We broke the safe, and they were so kind about it. They even use old-style door keys, so it really feels like stepping back in time. I read the reviews and wanted to add my own. The staff are friendly and helpful. If you want great service, clean rooms and lots of space, this isn’t the place.
