NH Amsterdam Leidseplein

The room was reasonably comfortable, but the bathroom was tiny, almost like one in a hospital, and the sink drained so slowly that even a moderate amount of water made the basin fill up. The lobby also made a poor first impression: it’s small, worn, and the flooring looked quite dirty and scuffed. At arrival, I asked for help with my luggage. One staff member answered sarcastically and dismissively that he didn’t know anything, which made me uncomfortable and put me off speaking with him. A woman at reception was polite and friendly, and explained that guests are expected to carry their own bags because the hotel doesn’t offer luggage assistance. She later offered to help, but I still had to carry my belongings myself. The room itself was acceptable, but between the bathroom problems, the lobby’s condition, no luggage help, and some staff being unprofessional, the stay fell short of what I expected.

We liked our room, which had thoughtful amenities, and the staff were friendly and very helpful with our requests. The location was so convenient, with the tram just steps away and everything we needed within walking distance. We enjoyed it enough to add two more nights, and we’ll definitely come back.

We had a great time here for several nights with our baby. The hotel team were very helpful, and our big bed was comfortable. Nights were quiet, with no disturbing noise. We’d be happy to stay again.

The breakfast was just right for starting the morning, and the staff were amazing. The rooms are spacious and very clean. I’ve seen people say rooms aren’t cleaned, but if you leave off the do not disturb sign, yours will be cleaned every day without fail, and to a very high standard. The location is perfect too. I’d definitely stay again.
