Traveling with a child and stroller? I wouldn’t book here. There’s no lift, and the stairs are extremely narrow and steep, so carrying our folded stroller up each time was a struggle. Our reservation confirmed a baby cot for our 2-year-old, but the room only had a sofa bed. Assistance couldn’t get the cot replaced, which was simply unacceptable. The apartment’s only bedroom also had no window, something the description never mentioned. We couldn’t use the luggage storage either. The only two lockers were locked, and the alternative they gave us was also closed. I checked at different times over three days and the lockers were always locked. Maybe they don’t even work.

We liked the apartment’s central location and decor, and it was a good fit for three people on a trip to Amsterdam. The beds were really comfortable, and having the bathroom separate from the toilet was great. The steep stairs could be a problem for anyone with knee or foot trouble. Inside, the apartment was very noisy, and we couldn’t sleep without earplugs. The bathroom tap dripped, while the other tap was hard to regulate: the water went too hot very quickly, then turned very cold a few seconds later. The ceiling light also kept flickering.

Check-in and check-out went really well. The walls are thin, though, so you hear a bit of noise. That could be a problem if you’re staying with a baby.

Nightmare is the word for it. This was easily my worst hotel experience, and it still cost €200 a night. The place was very dirty, there was no customer service, and there was no hot water in winter.

The rooms were clean and nice, but our TV remote was missing, so we had to use the buttons on the TV itself.
