The location is ideal, close to the city center and tram stops, and the reception staff were very friendly. I rented a single room. It was a little small, but just what I needed, with a comfortable bed and a good shower. The place was very clean. I'm vegan, so breakfast didn't offer much variety for me, but there were still some choices. The tea, fruit, and granola were all delicious. And special mention to their cat, who's super affectionate and completely stole the guests' attention.

We had a clean, comfortable, fairly spacious room, and the convenient location and cheerful staff made the stay enjoyable. The hotel is boutique-style and has a cool cat called Basil. It's well placed for local transport and the museums, so I’d highly recommend it if you travel light. The stairs down to the lobby aren't luggage-friendly, and the lift is tiny and unusual, though better than having no lift at all. Security also felt a little uncertain. We had to hand in our room cards every time we left and collect them on return. Twice during our five-night stay, two different staff members gave us the wrong cards.

The ground-floor common area was a nice spot to relax in the evening, and the location made it easy to walk to all the main tourist sights. The hotel is a little dated, but it offers clean, spacious rooms and good value for money. Everyone on staff was friendly and welcoming. I'd stay again.

The hotel is on a quiet street, with public transport, Vondelpark, the major museums, convenience stores, and a bike rental shop all a short walk away. I traveled alone and found the compact single room just right, with enough space for my luggage and room to move around. Having a private bathroom made it good value for the price. It's an older building, and the furniture shows its age, which adds to the character. The room was generally clean, though the carpet could use a deeper clean. I rarely walk barefoot in hotels, so it didn't bother me much. The bathroom seemed recently renovated, with a bright, modern, spacious feel. Shampoo and body wash were provided, though I would have liked a small shelf for my toiletries. Mine had a shower only, which suited me. The lift is small and dated, but fits the hotel's character. It's a tight squeeze for three adults, or for one person with two suitcases. Noise was low, and the other guests were considerate. Breakfast was a tasty continental spread, but a bit expensive for the amount, so it felt like the convenience was what you paid for. The staff were helpful and friendly, and I appreciated being able to store my luggage for a few hours after checkout. I'd happily return. It's a comfortable, affordable, more private option than a hostel for solo travelers.
