Quentin Amsterdam Hotel

At around 2 a.m., we found bed bugs under the sheets on every bed and on the walls. We took photos and videos, and some got onto our clothes. Staff offered no refund for that room. We argued for nearly an hour before they booked us somewhere else, but we had to pay €200 upfront and were only given a verbal promise of reimbursement, with nothing in writing. We still haven’t been paid back. The room was unusable and unsanitary, and the problem could have had serious consequences, including bites or our belongings becoming infested. The customer service and the way they handled it were unacceptable. We were three young women booked for August 29 at the Quintin Hotel. When we arrived, they said the reservation was for September 29, though we’re sure we’d selected the right date. The receptionist managed to find us a room at their other hotel, but charged us extra. I’ve rarely been so disappointed by a hotel. I strongly advise against staying here, especially if you expect a refund for a room you couldn’t sleep in.

We had to find somewhere else to stay and pay to treat all our clothes ourselves. The room also hadn’t been cleaned properly when we arrived. There were bed bugs, but the hotel refused a refund because we noticed them after two nights. Customer service said a refund wasn’t their policy, and they’ve stopped responding to our emails. Avoid this place at all costs.

This hotel ruined my trip, and I’d tell anyone with cash or valuables to stay away. About three years ago, I asked them not to clean my room, but a hotel worker came in and cleaned it anyway. Afterward, about $4000 was missing. I was spending my last two nights in Amsterdam there, and we ended up going to the police station at 2 a.m. to file a report. Nothing came of it, so I had to accept the loss. The hotel’s in a good location, but this was the worst experience of my life. I’ve seen other reviews and it’s obvious to me they hired a thief or thieves. I can’t believe the place is still open. Don’t stay here.

I really liked staying at Quentin Hotels. The room was clean and pleasant, with a lovely canal view from the window. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
