Radisson Blu Hotel, Amsterdam City Center

This place will always mean a lot to me because it’s part of our honeymoon memories 🤍 We had a wonderful stay. The atmosphere felt warm and comforting, the rooms were beautiful and relaxing, and the service made us feel welcome. Every little detail helped make the trip unforgettable. Thank you for being part of such a precious time in our lives. I’ll always remember this hotel with love and happiness.

What made our stay was how kind and helpful the staff were whenever we needed anything. The location is great too, right in the heart of amsterdam. It felt comfortable and dependable, and we'd happily stay here again.

The meal options were fine, both in the room and in the lobby, though we had to ask them to open the lobby restaurant on a Friday afternoon, which felt odd. The room itself was clean and a decent size, but the furniture felt cheap. We booked a shower and tub but got a shower stall, and the toilet was squeezed between it and a huge toilet roll holder. The mini fridge held just two bottles of water. There is a small self-checkout shop in the lobby, at least. The layout is a pain. Half the rooms are across the street, reached through an under-street tunnel and then a second elevator. There is a street door, but it's always locked. It's just okay, and the 4.5 stars on Orbitz/Expedia set expectations it didn't meet.

Even checking out was a struggle: they said nobody could help with our luggage, and someone only came after I insisted. That summed up a disappointing stay for me as a loyal Radisson Hotels customer. On arrival, there was nobody to help carry our bags inside, and at check-in I was told no one was available. After I complained, someone suddenly appeared. They provide complimentary water on the first day only. After that, you have to go to the lobby and pay €4 for a small bottle, or pay an extra €8 per room service order because it's treated as an “additional service.” 😂 Seriously? I'm a paying guest at a 4-star hotel, not asking for a favor. Other Radisson hotels I've stayed at around the world take care of guests, but this one seemed to go out of its way not to. The service was unbelievably poor compared with those other Radisson properties. I'm shocked that it doesn't meet Radisson Blu standards. For this price, you can find much better service and hospitality elsewhere in Amsterdam. Save your money.
