ibis Amsterdam Centre

The staff were lovely, and the reception and bar spaces were nice. I was moved to a higher grade room, and the view from the 7th floor over the IJ, the station, and Amsterdam Noord was fantastic. The room was cozy and reasonably equipped, but there was no tea or coffee. The location is right above Centraal station, which is handy, though it comes with noise. The room got *very* hot even in February, and the aircon wouldn't cool it, so I had to open the window. That brought in the trains, station vibrations, and announcements from 5:30am. There was also loud construction just outside the hotel. The bathroom and shower weren't clean, with black mould on the shower head. Getting to the room meant taking two different lifts because the hotel spans two buildings, one covering floors 1-5 and the other 5-9. The vending machines on the 5th floor were all broken or empty. Breakfast was poor for €19.50. The person ahead of me paid €19, and I don't know why mine cost 50 cents more. I only ate there once, since there are plenty of places in the station next door. Even a cup of hot water cost €2.50. Dinner choices were limited to pizza, but the pizza I had one night was very nice.

This is my second visit with my dog, and the staff remembered me, which felt really welcoming. Naima was especially kind and friendly, Jean found me a good room rate and really wants to do right by people, and Aga cleaned my room to a very good standard. I can't remember everyone's names, but the whole team works hard and does their jobs well. The hotel's location is perfect too. Thank you 💚

It's an easy place to explore Amsterdam from, close to the metro and Central Station, with the city center only a short walk away. Breakfast was simple but good quality, with what you need to start the day. The room was basic, though comfortable for a city trip, and the hotel was clean. Staff were welcoming and professional. I'd definitely recommend it.

The room was spacious, clean, and had no smell at all, even with a weed smell outside and in the halls. It was comfortable and quiet despite how busy the hotel was. We were right in front of the train tracks but couldn't hear anything, so the soundproofing was really good. The location was handy too.
