SWEETS - Buiksloterdraaibrug

For a romantic break, this was almost perfect. I stayed in February and loved the quiet spot a little out of town. HOTEL.103 has a tasteful, minimalist Japanese-style interior, tiny but functional, and I never once wondered why something had been put where it was. The bridge is closed to car traffic, which helps keep things calm. If noise bothers you or you’re a light sleeper, I’d recommend it without hesitation. M Noord Station is about a 15-minute walk away, with frequent connections to the centre and Amsterdam Zuid for the airport. In summer, I imagine it would be lovely to cycle through the park to the ferry across the IJ river to the central station. There’s a tiny waterfront “balcony” where you can sit and watch people pass, or even do that from bed. If you’re lucky, you might catch the sunset. If hotels had Michelin stars, I’d give this one a star for sure.

The bridge house was cozy, with lovely sunset views over the canal. It’s tucked into a peaceful park, yet close to great restaurants and bars. I’d highly recommend it!

We loved the park nearby, especially the ice cream shop, and enjoyed walking to the windmill close by. The station was also an easy, quick walk. Our room at the Sweets Hotel was beautiful, with a lovely view and a feeling of being surrounded by nature, the canal and park in front and pretty Dutch houses alongside. They’d decorated it beautifully for our anniversary. We had a fantastic stay and I can highly recommend it.

The bed was soooo comfortable, and I really liked the speaker and digital guide. The room was clean and had lovely little details. The app-based key gave us some trouble, but the help line responded quickly. A wonderful stay!
