The Times Hotel

Even on a quiet block, this place is right in the middle of things. It was easy to get wherever I wanted, and there are loads of cafes, restaurants, shops, and sites nearby, including Jordaan. I was traveling solo as a woman and felt safe and welcome. The service was friendly and helpful. My cozy canal view room was chic. The rooms can be small and the stairs steep, but that’s typical for hotels in cities like Amsterdam. I’m very eager to come back and stay again!

The reception had a lovely feel, and they left mini muffins and fruit out for guests. The rooms were warm and pretty, with heating that was much appreciated at that time of year. We booked at the last minute for a Twixmas break and ended up really pleased with the stay. A lovely staff member even offered us a traditional Amsterdam New Year’s treat, which was delicious. The room was clean overall, though a few spots could have used a deeper clean. Just a small point, we’d happily stay here again and recommend it.

The rooms are a good size and the beds were comfortable, so I can still recommend the hotel. My room looked surface-clean, but it needed a proper deep clean. The phone and bedside lights were dusty and dirty, the shower grout and rim were yellowed and crusty, and the glass toilet brush holder stuck to the wall was very visible, with a thick layer of scum.

We felt right at home here, and the canal views were lovely. The loft room had plenty of space for three of us and could easily fit four, with all the amenities we needed. The staff were welcoming, friendly, and happy to help. It’s centrally located, and we’d definitely choose The Times Hotel again on our next Amsterdam visit. Highly recommend it.
