I really liked the restaurant’s atmosphere, and the hotel room upstairs was beautiful and brand new. The Stamppot was delicious too. Such a nice restaurant and hotel, well worth staying at. 😊

The food here is the best, especially the ribs, which were the best I’ve ever had. The staff were great and everyone spoke English well. Just a small downside: there’s no Wi-Fi in the room upstairs.

The Loon beer brewery was only 25 yards away, but they didn’t serve its beers. That seemed really strange. They’d also restricted the outside tables, supposedly because of corona. Maybe they still think you can catch it in the open air?

If we return to Assen, we’ll definitely stay here again. Everything was in order, from the welcome and restaurant to the food, service and room. We had a wonderful time at the Herberg van Loon. Thank you.

A lovely, characterful place, and the menu is fantastic. The dishes were surprising and excellent, with great sides too. Definitely recommend it.
