Fletcher Hotel-Restaurant Hellendoorn

We had good food and a spacious room with soft bedding. Even with the window open, it stayed quiet, and the Dutch countryside around here is beautiful. Everything went smoothly, from check-in to check-out.

The balcony was a nice feature, but the doors had no catches to hold them open and kept banging against the outside bars in the wind. The exterior paint around the window frames was old and flaking. Under the balcony table, things were badly rusty, and its underside was coming apart. I have photos. Inside, one bedside light was broken, and the socket in the headboard came out a bit whenever I unplugged something. The room felt very dull and dark, with dark grey or black paint on the doors and dark stripes on the walls. We had twin beds, and there was no way to close the gap between the mattresses. They were far too soft and very low, so there wasn't a comfortable spot to sit on the bed. While lying there awake, I kept feeling like I was rolling toward the edge. The bedroom floor was uneven. We didn't pay much for the room, but expected a lot higher standards from a Dutch hotel.

A good hotel, with the basic things you need taken care of during your stay.

For the price I paid, and what I associate with Fletcher hotels, I expected a bit more. The room was pretty basic for two people. There was no coffee in the room, as Fletcher hotels usually provide, and no bathtub either. I know I may sound picky.
