Berghotel Vue

The beds are really, really comfortable, which is the main reason this gets three stars from me instead of two. The room itself is basic and small, with a decent bathroom, but it’s not somewhere I’d want to spend much time. I had to clean strawberry jam off the table myself, so the cleaning was minus five stars. Breakfast was okay. I’ve eaten here a few times before, and dinner was usually decent for what we paid. More recently I booked a room for my parents and saw how worn the hotel area has become. The small elevator looks rough, the upstairs halls are dark and have very threadbare carpet, and the walls are dented. The wooden trim is worn and broken in places.

Good value, with an excellent breakfast and a great location. In summer, I did miss having air conditioning. The rooms have a mosquito screen and a table fan, though, so you can sleep with the windows open.

I only stopped in for lunch. I was told the hotel rooms weren’t available to book. The food was excellent, and the staff were friendly.

Every year, we stop at hotel Vue for dinner on the drive home from our summer holiday. It’s relaxed, the menu is excellent, and our kids love the playground.
