The spot was beautiful, though the bus stop was quite a walk away. We had breakfast only, and the buffet was nice. Our room was neat and clean, with an attractive bathroom. The service was very good, and the beds and pillows were so soft that I slept really well.

We liked it so much we're cutting a trip short by a day so we can eat and stay here. The setting by the stream or river is lovely, and the food was some of the best I've ever had. After eating, we enjoyed taking our coffee outside and watching the world go by. It's a great place to sit and eat.

The breakfast was a letdown. There was bread, croissants, a small serving of crushed fruit and some cereal. We'd expected things like eggs, bacon, sausages, grilled tomatoes, mushrooms and toast. Still, we had an alright stay for the very reasonable price. The tavern has a welcoming country feel and plenty of character from its history. The building seems to date from the early twentieth century, or possibly earlier. Staff were casual but friendly and approachable, and check-in and checkout were easy. We didn't eat dinner there, though we would have felt comfortable doing so; we just had a few drinks at the bar. Our room was small. It had its own shower and sink, but the toilet was shared.

The food was uneven, with some dishes overcooked and others underdone. They also served the gin with the wrong botanicals. Staff didn't know much about the food, the service was poor, and they weren't especially helpful. We came with a group on Boxing Day. The place itself is quirky and lovely, but the day didn't go very well, and it lacked the things needed for an enjoyable outing.

Once someone arrived, breakfast was good and we had a nice chat. The location is nice too. But nobody told us breakfast ended at nine, and there was no one there before then. The room was small for 100 euro. We also couldn't get into the hotel late in the evening. We thought the keys were wrong, then later found a side door they worked in. We should have been told about that.
