The room was furnished very nicely, but I wouldn’t recommend the hotel. Our room was directly above a pub, so a quiet night’s sleep wasn’t possible. The bedroom also served as the passage to the children’s room, leaving us little time together as a couple. There’s no garage for secure parking. After we left the car on the street, vandals scratched it for 40 centimetres, causing 3,000 euros in damage. We were also charged for errors in the calculation by booking, com.

The village is sweet, but I wouldn’t recommend staying here. The shower has no doors and is in the bedroom, there was no reception or information, and there’s a bad restaurant below. The balcony rail was broken too.

The restaurant below the hotel was good, and the staff were friendly and quick. We stayed in a lovely suite with a king size bed that was really comfortable and a large bathtub in the room. The only small thing I’d improve is adding a towel rack.

It was just a one day visit, but I really enjoyed the hotel and its surroundings. The area is peaceful, with beautiful old buildings, and it’s not far from the beach or haarlem city centre. There’s a cozy atmosphere, plus a great restaurant and bar. The stairs were quite steep and hard to manage, though I learned they’re about to be changed. I’ll definitely come back.

The town is charming, and the hotel feels very safe. It’s a 15 minute walk from the train station, with a ride into Amsterdam from there. For a different outing, change trains at Harleem and head to the seaside town of Zandvoort. The views are fantastic. Our small double still had plenty of space. It was modern, the bed was very comfortable, and the WiFi worked well throughout the hotel.
