Gr8 Hotel Breda

The staff were so helpful, thank you for everything. We were there just one day while traveling, and the rooms were clean and nice. We missed the breakfast hours, so we had a burger at the Burger King inside the hotel.

The room was clean, tidy, and spacious enough, with sockets by the bed and a locked safe. There’s no refrigerator. I found the bed too soft, so anyone used to an orthopedic mattress might find it uncomfortable. The lighting is hidden, and you can change its color with a remote. Check-in is self-service at kiosks, with hotel staff there to help. I ran into several technical problems during my stay, and what stood out was how the employees listened, showed empathy, and did what they could to fix things. Thanks to all of them. The hotel is a little outside Breda, though buses stop right outside, and there’s a large free parking lot in front.

We found the staff some of the kindest and most helpful we’ve met on our travels. The hotel and rooms were nice and kept clean. It would have been good to have somewhere beyond the room to sit and relax, like a lounge with sofas, though you can use the tables in the breakfast restaurant. Also, getting to Breda’s center means taking a bus. That was easy enough, with a stop just across the road.

The room’s LED lighting and decor were the one part I liked. The hotel is newer and has great colors, but there was no phone to call the front desk, no fridge, and the Wi-Fi was terrible. The front desk staff came across as rude and unprofessional, with little customer service, especially assistant manager Madeliet. I emailed hotel manager Danielle Bos and followed up twice in case she was busy or hadn’t seen the first message. She never replied or acknowledged it. It left me feeling they don’t care about feedback or improving guests’ stays. If management is unprofessional, uncaring, and lacking empathy, it’s hard to expect better from the rest of the staff. There seemed to be no training in making guests comfortable, and basic manners were missing. I left very disappointed.
