The breakfast was a highlight, with lots of tasty options. It’s a great business hotel, and the staff are very caring. I’ll definitely come back on my next business trip!

I slept very well in the big room, which had a separate toilet and shower and a very good bed. There was plenty of parking right outside, and even a quick charging station on the hotel grounds if you need one. Staff at check-in and in the restaurant were very nice and accommodating. The Maltijd Salat was fresh and well seasoned with tasty herbs and spices. Breakfast had a broad choice of bread, rolls, pastries, muesli, and more. The highway is close, but that wasn’t a problem for me. At most, I heard a little whooshing, so the sound insulation is very good. I’d gladly stay here again if I get the chance.

I stopped at Van der Valk Hotel to charge my car and hoped to go in for a drink or snack, but the stop was unpleasant. There was a small “No Dogs” sign at the entrance that was easy to miss in the sunlight. Once I went in, the receptionist reacted in a panicky, unfriendly way and told me dogs weren’t allowed. I was told dogs could go on the terrace, but there didn’t seem to be a clear way to reach it from outside. It’s at the back of the hotel, and I couldn’t see how to get there without going through reception. Very unwelcoming, especially with the Tesla chargers right beside the hotel.

The hotel looked pretty ordinary from outside, but I changed my mind once I went in. The staff were very friendly, all the necessary facilities were there, and the restaurant was great. We saw a couple mention to their waitress that they weren’t happy with their dinner. The manager came over within a minute, sorted it out, and they left happy. One thing I’d suggest is paying more attention to cleaning in less visible spots, like the trash bins and the corners behind the curtains.
