Hotel De Bankier

I could barely hear the city noise from my room, which was well insulated. I was there for one night while traveling to a wedding, and found out on arrival that the city was celebrating. The receptionist said the noise outside would go on until 1am, and below the hotel until 3am. It was a pleasant stay, though I’d suggest warning future guests when events might keep them awake.

The shower had mold, there was no hairdryer, and the heating didn’t work. We’d booked a room for two adults and one child, but the staff wanted to charge us for three adults. We had booked breakfast but didn’t get it, and although checkout was at 12 o’clock, they made us leave at 11. The room felt like a chail, and the staff were very angry and seemed to want to kid us. This was the worst hotel I’ve ever visited. I’d give it minus 5 stars if I could, especially in Holland, where people are actually very friendly and willing to help.

A charming, friendly place in the city center. The staff were super helpful, and there are board games to play, whether you want a pleasant time or the chance to meet new people. I highly recommend it.

Breakfast was a croissant and coffee, a lovely way to start the day. The room was clean, and the friendly team were there to help whenever needed. There’s a private parking lot behind the hotel, and a pub and Bistro downstairs serving tons of french fries. You couldn’t notice the smell or noise. It’s a nice, cosy place right by the main leasure walkway. I’ll definitely be back.
