Zilt Texel

We had a really good week, and I've fallen in love with this beautiful island. The hosts were so nice, and their sweet dog was a delight. Town is about a 10-minute walk away, and parking is right outside the house. The location also works well if you're traveling by car or bike. Breakfast was amazing, always a surprise, and served in a lovely box. There were different breads and rolls every day, sometimes an omelet, sometimes boiled eggs, fruit, yogurt, cookies, or a yogurt drink. The upstairs room is beautifully furnished, with a very comfortable bed and chairs. There are two rods and two shelves instead of a closed wardrobe, which is fine in summer but could be tricky for bulkier clothes in spring or fall. The fridge could also use replacing. It's more like a minibar and doesn't cool very well. Those are just two small issues, though. This definitely won't be my last visit.

The rooms are modern and neat, and the owners are friendly and make the customer their priority. It's a quiet area too.

A lovely B&B in northern Texel, well placed as a base for visiting the Slufter and the lighthouse.

We'd be happy to return. Everything was just right.
