Hotel op Diek

We were only here for one night, but it was a really memorable stay. The room was cozy and crystal clean, and it was finally nice to have a bathtub. Great location, and really quiet too. Thanks to the owner, a real master of hospitality, for making the stay so special.

The location at Hotel Op Diek is charming and peaceful, but the warm, kind staff are what made the visit special. Everyone was friendly and helpful, and we really felt at home. We had a lovely stay. Highly recommended!

We felt welcome right away, even though we arrived well before check-in. They let us leave our luggage behind reception, and check-in itself was easy. I’d forgotten to add breakfast when booking, but we could pay €11 each for it, and it was worth it. There was loads to eat, the fresh bread was delicious, and it set us up for running and cycling each day. Our attic room had a comfortable bed and was lovely. It might get a bit warm in summer, just our opinion, but with the heating it was perfect in colder weather. If we come back in hotter weather, we’d choose one of the rooms with bigger windows. The WiFi was fast and steady, and there was space out front for our hire bikes. No kettle in the room, but the lounge and bar had a proper coffee machine with lots of coffees and hot chocolate, plus a big tea selection, all free. The staff couldn’t have been better, always around to help or have a friendly chat. There’s a supermarket nearby, nice places to eat and a bike hire shop just a few hundred meters away. The local bus serves all the nearby places, and the ferry is only 5 minutes away. Our taxi from the ferry cost a very reasonable €15 if you’d rather skip the bus. It’s a perfect base for relaxing and exploring the beautiful island. All together, a wonderful stay. Will we be back? DEFINITELY 100%. Thanks, and see you in the spring. This cozy, family-owned hotel was a lovely place to spend the night. The owner was super friendly and knew the area well. The breakfast buffet was really good, with nice local products, freshly baked bacon and scrambled eggs. And next to the parking lot there are four cute, friendly long-haired sheep that come running over when you call them.
