Our room was a little small, though that didn't bother us. It was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the bathroom and shower were okay. The hotel is close to the city center and easy to reach on foot. Breakfast was included with our reservation and was good, with plenty to choose from and the option to have an egg cooked. There's parking next to the hotel, but we didn't use it. We'd recommend the place and stay again.

Our first hotel cancelled three days before we were due to travel, so we booked The Bastion in a panic. We were so glad we did. It was fabulous and much better than our original booking, with everything clean, excellent facilities, lovely attention to detail, and staff who were super helpful and friendly. We’ll definitely stay again. Brilliant, couldn't fault it 😊

Dear Bastion Hotel Maastricht Centrum Team, I've checked out now and wanted to thank you for a pleasant, comfortable stay. Everything was taken care of, and I really appreciated it. I enjoyed my time in Maastricht and hope to come back to you in the future. Warm regards, Ger Coolen

We had a bad stay here. We were put in a downstairs room, and there was a strong sewage smell from the moment we arrived. The front desk said they'd address it after we complained, but nothing was done, even after we raised it several more times. Our complaints to Bastion itself were ignored or answered very late. In short, avoid a ground-floor room, or stay elsewhere.

The location was ideal, close to restaurants, bars, and shopping. Everything else was good, but the room was very dark with poor lighting. The bed cover wasn't the right size either, which made the corners a bit uncomfortable.
