Getting breakfast before my early departure was no problem. The owner was so friendly and made sure I had it. The hotel itself is peaceful and charming, right by the river and a square lined with plenty of restaurants.

The beds were extremely comfortable, and the room was nicely furnished with a kitchenette. Staff were helpful and friendly, though they aren't on site around the clock. The breakfast didn't feel worth what it cost. Parking was arranged in an unusual way, and the stairs up to the accommodation are very steep and narrow.

Peter, the proprietor, made us feel very welcome and was genuinely kind. The hotel is in Deventer's old section, and our room was clean and comfortable. It was incredible value for the price. We'd happily come back and would strongly recommend it.

We were left outside in the cold because they closed half an hour early. I had to book somewhere else for that night, then they charged me for the night as a no-show. The other hotel I found was Fletcher Glide, which was a much better option. Be careful with this company. I think they're liars, and I'm filing a case with my credit card company to try to reverse the charge.

I've stayed here four times, and it's still my first choice in Deventer. The rooms are excellent, the owner is a friendly guy, and they treat people well.
