B&B Hotel Lichtstad

The bathroom was freezing, even with the radiator turned all the way up, and its big window looked straight across the busy street at other houses. Using the toilet felt like being on display; some privacy film would help. They'd also left a dishwashing brush on the floor as a toilet brush. We booked a room with its own bathroom, though the sink was oddly in the bedroom beside the bathroom door. The beds were okay and the sheets seemed clean, but some of the other furnishings were dusty. We got no breakfast information and didn't eat there. The owner seemed a bit disorganized. You can hear the bar and street, though it gets quieter later. Parking is available nearby if you're driving, just not right at the hotel. It's a place to sleep on a short Eindhoven trip, nothing more.

We arrived a few minutes after midnight, and the owner was inside, but he refused to check us in. He was extremely rude and kicked us out. We never got our money back. A really bad experience, and I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone.

The staff were really nice, which helped make up for some of the drawbacks. There’s no promised breakfast, though, and the restaurant is closed at breakfast time. This is a small hotel, not a B&B. Parking is wherever you can find a space on the street. Also, why was there a pot scrubber on the floor by the toilet? Get a proper toilet brush. The hotel itself is okay if you can manage the very narrow, steep stairs up to your room.

We booked through Booking for a room with a private bathroom, but were given a shared one when we arrived. The receptionist blamed the booking website. Booking said the reservation had gone through a partner site, so they couldn't help. I was upset, and I suspect the owners know this problem is being exploited.
