We paid for a suite for four, but only the double bed was made up; the single beds were left undone. The bathroom had just a small soap by the sink, with no shower gel or shampoo. The beds were much too soft and uncomfortable, and the soundproofing was terrible. There was no proper air conditioning or heating, even though both were listed among the facilities. For the price, the quality and service fell far short of what we expected, and the hotel didn’t match its advertising.

The restaurant was very good, and the staff were attentive and nice. Breakfast came fresh to each table and tasted great, though the portions were on the light side. We liked the mezzanine room and the small hotel’s family inn feel, and it’s well placed for getting around, with free parking nearby. The room could use more closet space, and it was awkward to improvise somewhere for our clothes. The large, pleasant shower could use a shelf for our things. The air conditioning didn’t make much difference, so we had to open the windows.

There’s lovely forest nearby that’s worth a visit in any season. We didn’t explore Elspeet itself, since we were only here for one night after a spa day at “de Veluwse Bron,” about a 25 minute drive away. Our room was cozy, with a very nice bathroom and rain shower. The bed was really comfortable, and breakfast was included, freshly made to order, with delicious fresh bread from the local bakery. I’d highly recommend staying here.

The owners were amazing, and the rooms were clean and renovated. The setting is picturesque, and the breakfast they serve is wonderful. One of the best experiences I’ve had. Highly recommend.
