Fletcher Hotel-Restaurant Trivium

The spa was fantastic, the rooms were spotless, and the beds were really comfortable. You’ll need to rent a car if you stay here, though. The breakfast was excellent too, despite getting unfair reviews in the past. Reception staff were amazing, and the bar team gave great service as well. This hotel deserves five stars, 100%.

The room was spacious, and the bed was comfortable, but there was dirt on it that made me wonder how well the rest of the room had been cleaned. It smelled unpleasant, had no air conditioning, and the TV was smaller than a computer screen. We also found a used, dirty cup by the coffee machine. Breakfast was good, and the staff there were super friendly. We had to ask several times to get our key cards reactivated because they kept failing. We picked this place because it was convenient for the summer weekend festival in Hoogstraten. Otherwise, I’d have passed on it after reading the reviews. My boyfriend checked us in earlier. When my mom and I arrived around midnight, the entrance was shut. The sign said to use the room card or call the number posted there. The call went straight to voicemail, but I spotted an employee walking by and he let us in. He didn’t greet us or ask anything, and seemed unhappy to be there. I went to my sister’s room to get my key card. The other staff were friendly and helpful, so I hope that first encounter was an exception.

I paid more than I think the rooms are worth. The lobby and restaurant bar look modern, with nice details, but my room felt dated, especially the bathroom. There were little damages around the room, and the TV was tiny and tucked into a corner. The rooms could use some renovation. I stayed two nights and had a whole youth football team on my floor. There were more than 20 of them, and it stayed noisy until 11 p.m. or midnight. The hotel should consider keeping other guests off that floor, or at least leaving a few rooms between them and the group.

The wellness facilities were decent, and I really enjoyed them. The rooms were pretty bare bones, though, and the restaurant service was the slowest I’ve experienced eating out. They’re trying to be eco-friendly, but putting plastic cups in the rooms instead of glass ones doesn’t seem very smart environmentally.
